Totally unaware of this event, and not disappointed. Organizers for this DC event were clearly Chicago transplants. Why else in a radio market as prominent as Washington, DC would an inaugural event be hosted by a Chicago DJ. Legends such as Bobby Bennet and Donnie Simpson are just two of the extremely popular radio icons that make this region their home. Why were they not considered, and if they were unavailable that still leaves the question - why a Chicago DJ?

Herb Kent is at least 75 years old or older. He has done his time, paid his dues, opened the door and laid the platform for Donnie and Bobbie. Herb Kent was on the radio when “we” were negroes (WVON). Donnie and Bobby are how old??? They have many more years to step up to the plate. Herb Kent earned it, let him live it up while he can and quit hating because he is from Chicago.
