One of the hardest-hit places in our area for foreclosures is Prince George’s County.
Congresswoman Donna Edwards tells Fox 5 that her staff is so overwhelmed by calls for help, they have little time to address other issues.
On Monday night, Edwards sat down to dinner with the Guardado family. The family home is in foreclosure, and they fear they will lose it soon. The Guardados say they can no longer afford their home after the adjustable rate mortgage increased a few months ago.
Edwards says she is upset with Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson, who she believes has not helped homeowners with the $350 billion Congress already approved to help turn the economy around. Edwards says Paulson has not used the money to help struggling homeowners.
Edwards says she will continue to fight against foreclosures and is confident homeowners who are in trouble will get the help they need when President-Elect Obama takes the oath of office.
