Bishop Weeks’ Church Evicted from Duluth Site

November 17th, 2008 · 10 Comments

ATLANTA (AP) — The ex-husband of televangelist Juanita Bynum — Bishop Thomas W. Weeks III — had to relocate services after his Duluth church was evicted.

Attorney Stephanie Friese of Grimes-Square Executive, Inc., says Weeks, the leader of Global Destiny International Ministries, hasn’t made any payments at all since July despite negotiations with the landlord. She says Weeks owes more than $400,000 in rent and fees.

Eviction proceedings began against Weeks in early October. Court records show that Weeks tried unsuccessfully to delay the eviction.

A sheriff’s deputy came to the church campus Friday to carry out the eviction. The campus includes business offices and a church.

Weeks’ divorce attorney Randy Kessler says he was unaware of the eviction, but predicts Weeks will “land on his feet if that is indeed the case.”

How can you not know you are in debt over $400,000??????

I get $4,000 in debt with my mortgage and i am sure they will process eviction papers … give me a break!

    And he’s a minister? where’s the accountability?

…and when your enemies are standing over you when you fall down remember what you put out there today against another Christian brother ’cause Jesus cant lie: what you sow you will reap.

This is nothing to “giggle” at. I pray the brother is a better man for what happened and that he does land on his feet. He might be the reason some brother just out of prison may have a bed to sleep in or a pew to sleep on one night.

Be encouraged Brother Weeks and Evangelist Bynum. Be encouraged.

people we have to understand that the way we judge we will be judged so the only thing we can do is pray for him and his situation and that god will be glorified threw this all i know several things just dont look right on his behalf but satan does have power to make things appear to be true and he is an ancient liar so my people please think about what u say the bible says those who curse shall be curse and those who bless shall be bless peace out my people

If any man can look himself in mirror and say they have never failed or lost something then you may point your finger. Remember that finger bends both ways. We are all different, and what he may have lost now GOD will give his ministry a 100 fold blessing. Don’t forget this effects everyone in his church. GOD bless the ones that shows compassion, and may GOD pour compassion in your time of storm.

I’m sure not only Rev. Weeks and his WIFE, BOTH were made aware of the eviction forth coming, both are domestic abusers as a preacher and evangelist.

Let him without sin cast the first stone. We all have a past, can we truly stand in judgment of someone else. Pray for him so that he maybe a blessing for someone.

Ya’ll need to pray for this man and his flock. Churches can mount a lot of debt. Take for example, if you are in a complex and you are paying 10k per month. That’s just rent.

    Take care,

    Keven

I am afraid those of us who are supposed to lead the flock to victory, by our own example, “faith” that is vain presumption and self worth instead of Christ’s worth lead the flock to slaughter and scattering. I am sorry this man lost his church. However, as a rule most churches are irrelevant these days any way. How many churches want homeless people to come. How many churches want alcoholics, or drug users, or day release or just released felons? Paul Scanlon says it best-by wanting sinners, praying for sinners, crying for sinners to come into the church, when they do we are horrified because they do not smell like us sometimes, or dress like us, or are the same color as us and on and on it goes. So the sinner we want is white anglo saxon with a nice wardrobe, good job and has his/her life already mostly together. No wonder Jesus called the church folks of His day vipers, or the most poisonous of snakes. Our churches today are social clubs. Religious fraternaties, church supper clubs. How long has it been since the church did the heavy lifting of delivering in Jesus name the bound, sick and oppressed of this dying world? At least 3 or more generations back. Now church is for the largest part a place for people that have a twinge of conscience go to douse that feeling for another week. Give to missions - yup - pay somebody else to do it. We will pray for you and them, but we will NOT get OUR righteous hands dirty, no sir!

A church that is REAL is one that REACHES oyt and gets involved in people’s lives when it is NOT conveinent to do so. When it is uncomfortable, out side our latte and designer clothes realm. That’s a church I want to go to, or maybe even pastor. How about you?
