WASHINGTON (AP) — Metro says riders will soon receive more details on trains more quickly through a new electronic message display.
The system is slated to debut Monday on electronic message boards in station platforms and mezzanines.
The screens will provide notes on delays, tell riders what to expect and suggest travel options. Communications workers at Metro headquarters will update the messages as incidents develop.
Instead of the scrolling text currently used, these messages will flash up to four lines of information for about five seconds at a time.
