Straight from the Hip- “Wisdom from the Jazzman”

August 21st, 2008 · No Comments

Well, it’s been a while since we had a time to chat. Life between radio gigs has been relaxing and insightful. Outside of my other business endeavors I decide to launch a new radio station at www.SmoothJazzAmerica.com. It’s Smooth Jazz Radio- The Way It Should Be, taking away the songs that didn’t fit and giving you the music from artist you really wanted to hear in a flow that won’t let you go. Having taken the time and effort to complete getting the initial phase of Smooth Jazz America up and running, I can now get back to writing and sharing more Words of Wisdom, more food for the mind to live by, apply to your life and share with those who mean the most to you. As you mature in this day to day journey you realize just how powerful your words are. If you’re lucky you gain control over them over time. If you haven’t you should make a conscious effort to do so because your words are very powerful. No matter what the content, good, bad or indifferent once said you can’t take them back. What you say and how you say it colors who you are and what will be. Here’s something for you to think about and pass on. Take a moment and marinade in the sauces of Wisdom From The Jazzman.

Watch What You Say
Your words set the direction for your life. Which direction are you going? Are you declaring good things, speaking words of faith over your future? Or are you going around saying negative things like “Nothing good ever happens to me”, “It’ll never work”, “I always get sick” or “I’ll never have this or that”. You words have great power, so Watch What You Say.
Use the words you speak to declare good things. Declare victory over the difficulties & obstacles in your life. Declare good health. Declare joy. Declare prosperity. Get up every day and boldly declare, “This is going to be a great day. I may have been defeated in the past. But this is a new day. God is on my side. Things are changing in my favor. Today is going to be the best day of my life”. And even if it doesn’t turn out the way you expected it to, it was still a good day because you gave it your all and learned something from it that you can use to move forward another day. Your words have great power, so Watch What You Say.
Think before you speak. Listen well and completely before you respond in conversation. Your words have great power. Power to hurt others. Power to lift up. Power to bring you down. And Power to move you to greatness. Besides all that, you can apologize, but once you say it you can’t take it back. So Watch What You Say.
