While there is an ongoing investigation, the efforts have been complicated because many of the officers who had access to White are refusing to cooperate with authorities. The NAACP held a press conference today in order to voice their concerns about the case.
“Our hearts are bleeding for both families. We demand the truth come out and that those who are wrong in their conduct be punished,” said Rev. C. Anthony Muse, chair of the
The NAACP chapter is requesting that the officers who had access to White be put on immediate administrative leave until the investigation into the man’s homicide is complete.
They also want the FBI to keep open the civil rights investigation which they launched in response to White’s murder.
“Mr. White was a suspect, not a convicted felon at the time of his death,” said June Dillard, president of the

According to police after being pulled over, White began ramming Finley’s car, and when the corporal got out of his car, police say the suspect ran Cpl. Finley over.
The suspect was last seen alive in his solitary-confinement cell at 10:15 a.m. last Sunday. When an officer came to deliver White his lunch, they found him slumped over and unresponsive.
“This did not happen on some dark, abandoned, lonely road,” Bobby G. Henry Jr., the family’s attorney, said at a separate news conference on Tuesday. “This happened in broad daylight, in the custody of county officials Everyone who has someone or knows someone who is in the county correctional facility should have a problem with that.
Later today, a memorial service and viewing will be held for, Cpl. Richard Finley. The slain officer’s funeral is this Thursday. The investigation into his murder is ongoing.

Why must the NNACP always get involved? Why try to make it a racial issue? This was not a racially motivated incident. It is called justice. Mr. White took a life and paid with his. It is not right to judge since we are not god, but Mr. White was totally wrong with his actions. Bottom line, sometimes justice is paid in a way we do not expect. Let’s not fight over a person who did not care about taking someone’s life and away from his family. The PO was doing the right thing, his job. What was Mr. W hite doing? Took a life for his foolish actions. How can we make this world a better place when it involves a white person it becomes automatically racially motivated? Lets save it for when it really applies.

Seems to me he went through the justice system many times. If justice had been served at least one of times he was in jail for his multiple charges and convictions. The officer FINDLEY (anyone notice how the NAACP rep never said his name but said White’s) would be in bed with his wife right now.
White did not deserve to die at the hands of a vigilante, BUT he did deserve to die.

Bullshit! race had nothing to do with it, a man decided to take an officer’s life and because of that another man took his life. None of it is right but it’s done…..what happens if we find out it was a black guard that did the deed? does it make any difference?….. a police officer is dead and a thug is dead……neither will be with their family tonight.

The people advocating that the police or correctional officers MURDER suspects are insane. I am not going to go as far as calling you racists because I don’t know you & can’t judge that. However to say that he got what he deserved, “a lynching”, without due process, as a SUSPECT in jail is MURDER.
Not only did the officer who was killed in Laurel that Friday (whose life was about JUSTICE and UPHOLDING the LAWS of the Land) had NO justice on finding out IF this was, INDEED, the man that ran him down or if it was another person in the car with him. This was disrespectful of the principles that the officer stood for and died for.
Secondly, it was disrespectful of the community. The next time someone at a job is angry and feels violated by their boss, perhaps they feel justified in making the boss pay, but this is ILLEGAL and wrong! If you crazies are advocating vigilante vengence then this is a sad time in Prince George’s Co. once again.
Two families now suffer losses, but you weirdos are applauding the murder of a man who will NEVER be convicted of the crime.
These are sad times.

No pity 4 killers… Your name is a mockery of what happened… The man that killed White IS A MURDERER! WHAT are you saying? Do YOU even know? How do you know White was the driver? You don’t… You weren’t there & NO TRIAL ever took place.
Mark, do you feel the same way about James Byrd’s murderers that were in Jasper, TX???
Justice, no one stated that the murdering CO (that’s what that person is) was Black/ White… but you OBVIOUSLY are OBLIVIOUS to history to ask why the NAACP would step in to a case where an African American SUSPECT was murdered in his cell by an officer of the law????Are you that thick headed or just trying to be difficult?
No one feels good about an officer being murdered. HOW MANY TIMES MUST THAT BE STATED???? But feeling GOOD & Proud about anyone not tried being murdered is INSANE and ASSANINE. This is called a lynching! You’re advocating lynching??? If so, you are the racists that you say you are and you should be living and dying by the rope you swing.

It is entire bs what happened, pg county cops are horribly corrupt and it is rediculous for anyone to say that its fair what happened. Fuck that. bottom line the people who were supposed to be watching him, and the ones who are supposed to keep the community safe, are the ones who are doing just the opposite. All of you who work for the pg county police station should be the ones behind bars. You’re all dirt. Next time think about this case when you ask yourself why noone respects you. Power hungry cops who take out their anger on whoever they come across. By not cooperating you are going against the system that you pledged to work for. You represent justice, but you show through your actions you advocate murder. You’re not worth the time or energy. slime balls
