Desperate HOODWIVES by Meesha Mink and De’Nesha Diamond

If you like Desperate Housewives then you will love Desperate HOODWIVES.  Desperate Housewives doesn’t have anything on the wives and wifeys in the hood.  And for sure Bentley Manor is no Wisteria Lane.  However, that doesn’t mean that the Wives in Bentley Manor aren’t a force to be reckoned with.  Unlike the ladies on Wisteria Lane these women have not found out that they need each other though.  In order to take you into Bentley Manor we must start from the stoop where you will first meet Miz Osceola and Miz Cleo who see all and can tell all.  But most of the time people never heed the warnings of an old lady.

First there is, Aisha, who thinks that her husband is her king and she is Queen until he finds out just what it is that she has been doing to keep her lifestyle up.  then, there is Devani who thinks that the way out of the projects is through trickery and a man who just happens to be on his way to a promising Football career.  (Her momma told her so!)

Next, there is Molly who just happens to be white but it’s not alright since her husband Junior is the project’s Ho.  Junior slept his way through the projects and they say he is a gift from GOD.  Last, but not least there is Lexi.  Lexi has five children, two of which are Junior’s.  This book has so many twists and surprises, I couldn’t wait to get to the next page.

They have described project life to a tee.  The surprising thing is they all need each other and they are all so stuck in their own world and living out the life their mother’s have set before them that they realize they could band together and move themselves out of the projects.  Instead, they all wait on baited breath for a man to take them where their stilettos can’t seem to get them.  Meesha Mink and De’Nesha Diamond have done a wonderful job at capturing the lives of these women, but never fear these women are fearless and do what they think they have to do.  Patricia Gaines said it best when she said Desparation Has An Odor To It and trust me ladies when I tell you that men or dogs whichever you are dealing with can smell it a mile away.  These women have trials and tribulations just like the women on Wisteria Lane, however there is no one to give them a fairytale ending and the story leaves you wanting more and guess what there is more to come in the next installment.  I don’t know about you but I can’t wait.  So please get your first installment because I really enjoyed this put and couldn’t put it down.

Happy Reading,
