Families Celebrate Ancestors on Historic Land

May 27th, 2008 · 1 Comment

Several families in Rockville haven’t just lived through a lot, they’re living on history. Descendants of freed slaves are living on the burial ground of their ancestors and this weekend, they’re celebrating their lives. Fox 5’s Roz Plater takes us to a special part of Rockville where those families are preparing for the special celebration.

This is so awesome…to look back to see how far we have come and for the family to continue to keep the property that their slave great-grandparents left behind….its awesome plus more. This is why we must live a wholesome life and leave something of value behind when we close our eyes for the last time. Property was so important to the slaves, I believe it was #2 in their hearts with freedom the #1 place. What are you leaving behind…remember that death has no age so forget about later and start working on your legacy today so your children, grandchildrenand great grandchildren can also be proud of the family home.
