ATLANTA (myfoxatlanta.com) — A t-shirt for sale at a Marietta restaurant is causing quite a stir among those who believe it is racially offensive. The shirt bears an image of monkey eating a banana and references Barack Obama. FOX 5’s Portia Bruner spoke to the restaurant owner selling the shirts and to those offended by the imagery. Disappointed; the best way to describe my feeling towards “The Morning Mess” show on Star 94. As I drove into work this morning listening to the cast defend and support Mike Norman of Mulligan’s Restaurant. They all though the incident was sooooo funny, while not appreciating and then intentionally disrespecting the wide ethnic audience that listens to them.
They owe the Atlanta audience an apology. There is nothing funny about an incident that has so many negative connotations for a race of people. I know they know better.

People call President Bush (and other caucasians of celebrity) names and insult them all the time and yet no one reacts to that. (No, I am definitely NOT a Bush supporter!) Yet, you come even remotely close to making a comment about an african american, and the whole world goes wild! People might want to start drinking DE-caffeinated coffee and just chill out. You’re only helping them to sell more t-shirts with the publicity. Besides, what’s next? Oh, be careful what you say about people with brown eyes. Oh, and be careful what you say about people who are left-handed. Oh, and be careful what you say about people who kind of look like they’re african american but aren’t. Really! Put on your big kid underwear and get over it!!!

It’s not about drinking de caffeinated coffee it’s a comfort zone that crackers continue to have about us! With the countless crimes against black people that go unmentioned or disregared ex. Sean Bell, our lives are not valued!!!
I bet you if a black business owner created t-shirts with McCain dipicted as a leader of the KKK white hood and all raping a black woman w/McCain 08 on it or something like that it would make ALL MEDIA OUTLETS as a problem! Somehow the black business owner would get fined and his business vandilized.

It really shouldn’t matter what nationality you are this is America and we All should be held accountable for the actions we make period.

White folks are racists and will more than likely ALWAYS be racist. They refuse to acknowledge and/or even try to understand our people especially when America is the way it is because of their racists azzes. Of course that t-shirt is racist. How could it not be? Although some whites are improving I’m not that hopeful.

Kimber and Teena B….it will all stop when we can just ALL call ourselves Americans without focusing on ANY minority aspects at all. Not african american or asian american or hispanic american…..just american! ALL of us…one grouping. We need to get rid of the focus on ALL divisive distinctions! That includes not focusing on “black pride”. You naturally separate yourselves when you do that. Why not just american pride for EVERYONE? That is, if that’s what you TRULY want….and Kimber, shame on you for calling me a cracker. Teena B, shame on you for assuming all “white folks” are racist! There’s no need for that. If YOU want respect from others, you need to give it as well. And be careful what you say because your words could very well be a part of the same problem you’re talking about! I’m not trying to attack you in anyway….but I just want you to be aware that your disrespectful “namecalling” and assumptions ARE part of the reason why America can’t get past this problem.

It’s the same no matter where you go….White people think just how their ancestors did…no matter how much they try to hide it…We as African American people have to stand up for ourselves and no that we are way better than what they could even imagine. God created us in a unique way that can not be duplicated no matter how hard the “white” race try…and we all know they do try.

This is shameful; call it what is it “a negative campaign tactics.”
I agree with Mrs. Obama, “For the first time in my adult life, I am really proud of my country, because it feels like hope is making a comeback. Not just because Barack has done well, but because I think people are hungry for change.”
Come on people, Let’s turn the page, Most Americans want “ change in this election,” and they especially care about health care, jobs, gasoline prices, college affordably and the Iraq war plus etc….
I too have troubles being proud of this country were we do twice as much, do better than whites and then belittle by others’. Life is difficult for all of us in the last 20 years. Stay focus on everyday life events, not making fun of people who don’t look like you.

Hmmmm… Comparing Obama to a monkey? How stupid.
Monkey features:
1) Thin lips, actually, thinner than a human’s.
2) Very hairy body, covered in straight hair.
3) Flat butt, actually, flatter than a human’s.
4) Long back compared to legs.
5) Recessive heels.
6) Heavy brow-ridge.
African features:
1) Full lips. The fullest on earth, (not counting collagen freaks).
2) Relatively hairless body compared to many other races including whites. What hair there is tends to be curly.
3) Round butt. - The roundest of all people. Certainly true of the women. Maybe true of men too, but can’t say I’ve been looking…
4) Short back compared to legs.
5) Somewhat protruding heels, at least more than the average white….
6) Relatively smooth brow-ridge. Smoother than most whites, anyway.
Now, if you’re a little slow, go back and compare each of the features detailed, one by one. Hopefully, you’ll get it this time.
Seems obvious to me that Obama’s AFRICAN heritage is what SAVES him from looking like a monkey. I wonder when these silly whites are going to catch on?

I read about people calling others racist, but the responses are twice as racist. They outright state white people are racist. But isn’t pointing this out that certained raced people are more racist than others pretty racist? I love Obama. I hate the rude comments.

There is no “one” grouping. you explain what struggle white people have gone through since America was born?? Go google JENA 6, Sean Bell, hell go pull up bet.com and take a look at the injustices that still occur everday for black people!!! Go look at the missing persons reports and see how many beautiful black and mexican women went missing the same week precious little natalie holloway went missing, and you explain to me… why they werent on the news?!?! “Left handed” or “brown eyed” white girls have never been oppressed, put through slavery, or gone through half the shit us black women go through til this day. You dont know racism still exist because you are the preferred race!!! Yall have ran this country since its birth and have no reason to experience it. To say that we need to put on our big kid panies n get over it, shows in itself you see nothing wrong with racism. Jus wait til you see how much disappointment some of your closest “non racist” friends are if there’s a black man in the driver seat!!!!
