Local Resident to Host Basketball Workshop

Washington, DC – The Free DC Campaign (FDC) will host the Give and Go Challenge on April 19, 2008. The workshop is designed to educate aspiring student-athletes with tools to market themselves to potential college coaches.

 

The workshop will give student-athletes exposure to recruiters and coaches from colleges and universities around the country.  During the workshop, students will perform basketball drills and participate in basketball games, allowing recruiters and coaches to evaluate their performance and provide feedback.

 

“Our goal is to offer the youth in our community with the information and resources that will help them achieve their goals, said Frank Bryant, Founder of the FREE DC Campaign and organizer of the workshop.

 

The Give and Go Challenge will feature guest speaker, Francis Flax, owner of the USBL team, Kansas Cagerz. Mr. Flax will discuss the importance of higher education and offer tips to students on how to develop their basketball skills.

 

The workshop is free and open to current high school seniors, GED recipients and high school graduates with lasting college eligibility. It will be held from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Cesar Chavez Public Charter School, 3701 Hayes Street N.E., Washington, DC. For more information contact freemycity@gmail.com
