TYRA BANKS: MAN CHARGED WITH STALKING ORDERED TO STAY AWAY
   NEW YORK (AP) — A lot of guys like Tyra Banks. But a guy from
Georgia is accused of being a little too fierce in pursing her. A
judge in New York has ordered Brady Green to stay away from the
supermodel and talk show host — or face going to jail. Green has
been following Banks from coast to coast since January, and has
sent her flowers and tried to call her. Last week, he was issued a
court order requiring him to leave her alone. But Green was
arrested when he showed up in March at the Manhattan building where
Banks tapes her show and asked to speak to her.

GARCELLE BEAUVAIS-NILON: MOM EXPLAINS WHY SHE DID PLAYBOY SPREAD
   CHICAGO (AP) — Some women say they do it for the money. Some do
it for the exposure. And some say they do it to build their
self-esteem. So, why did Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon do a nude spread
for Playboy magazine? She tells Jet magazine she did it because she
was trying to get pregnant and wanted people to see what she looked
before she had a baby. Besides she says, Playboy offered her the
cover, something she says they “don’t normally do for Black
women.”

CORINNE BAILEY RAE: INVESTIGATION INTO HUSBAND’S DEATH CONTINUES
   LONDON (AP) — Authorities have arrested a man in the death of
Corinne Bailey Rae’s husband. They say a 32-year-old man was
arrested on suspicion of supplying Jason Rae with drugs. But the
suspect was released on bail. Police say Jason Rae was found dead
in an apartment in the northern English city of Leeds over the
weekend. Toxicology tests to determine the cause of death aren’t
ready yet. Jason Rae was 31. Corinne Bailey Rae is 29.

MICHAEL VICK: NEW TRIAL DATE MAY BE SET TODAY
   SURRY, Va. (AP) — We’ll probably find out today when Michael
Vick’s latest dogfighting case will come off. The prosecutor is
expected to announce when the charges from the state Virginia will
go to trial. Surry County state’s attorney says he has been working
with Vick’s attorneys to agree on a date for the trial, which was
originally set for April 2nd. Vick is serving a 23-month prison
term in Leavenworth, Kansas after pleading guilty to federal
charges linked to promoting dog fights through his Bad Newz
Kennels. Trial dates will also be set for Vick’s co-defendants,
Quanis Phillips and Purnell Peace. They are also in federal prison
after guilty pleas in the dogfighting case.

BARACK OBAMA: TAKING ON “THE VIEW”
   WASHINGTON (AP) — There’s a break in the campaign schedule for
the two Democrats still trying to win the party’s nomination for
president. And Senator Barack Obama will try to take his case
directly to women voters when he appears on “The View” this week.
Friday’s scheduled appearance marks the first time he has been on
the show since becoming a presidential candidate. Chatting it up
with Whoopi Goldberg, Sherri Shepherd, Barbara Walters and the rest
of the “View” crew may be a way for Obama to score points with
women voters. Rival Hillary Rodham Clinton has held the edge with
women, capturing 51 percent of the female vote to 45 percent for
Obama. Obama last visited “The View” in November 2004, when he
promoted the paperback version of his book, “Dreams from My
Father.”

LeBRON JAMES: IS COVER IN “VOGUE?”
   NEW YORK (AP) — He may have made history by becoming the first
black man to be on the cover of Vogue. But some are criticizing
LeBron James for a magazine cover pose that may remind people of
the nation’s negative racial history. Some critics have described
James as sporting what they call a gorilla-like pose, with his
mouth wide open and baring his teeth. It probably didn’t help that
the cover depicts him dribbling a basketball in one hand while his
other arm is wrapped around the waist of Brazilian supermodel
Gisele Bundchen. Some critics compare the imagery to that of King
Kong and Fay Wray. But James is having none of that. The Cavaliers
star tells the Cleveland Plain Dealer he’s happy with the cover. As
for the grin? He says he was “just showing a little emotion.”

WAYMAN TISDALE: FORMER NBA STAR ON THE REBOUND
   NEW YORK (AP) — Wayman Tisdale’s new album is called
“Rebound.” It’s an appropriate title, and not just because he
used to be an NBA star. Tisdale is also rebounding from a bout with
bone cancer last year. After his recovery, he set about producing a
joyful, laid-back set of tunes. Besides teaming up with fellow jazz
artists Brian Simpson and Dave Koz, the album will also have a
little country flava. He records a remake of Barry White’s “Never
Gonna Give You Up” with country star Toby Keith. The album is due
in stores on June 3rd.

REMY MA: PROSECUTION AND DEFENSE CLASH OVER DETAILS OF SHOOTING
   NEW YORK (AP) — Prosecutors are taking issue with a defense
claim that Remy Ma accidentally shot a friend in a dispute over
missing money. They note that the rap star climbed into the car
with the shooting victim with a loaded weapon. And in closing
arguments, prosecutors said after the shot was fired, Remy Ma
didn’t act like a person who was just involved in an accidental
shooting. They say after the gun went off, the rapper didn’t check
herself or her friend for gunshot wounds — nor did she call for
medical help or take the victim to the hospital. Instead, she
jumped into her SUV and sped off. The gun involved in the shooting
was never found.
