A “Washington Insider,” with a masters and professional degree from D.C.’s beloved Howard University and former employee of the President of the United States is showing that despite negative feedback from few she is still respected by many.
Reality television star, Omarosa has left the chambers of Capitol Hill to take over the world of reality television, where her personality has frequently been the source of controversy.
She has been described as “one of the most venomous poisons”, a “disgusting little tramp”, and a “irrelevant, ghastly little creature”, by Piers Morgan, co-star on Donald Trump’s television reality show, The Apprentice.
But what the public sees on television isn’t necessarily the true Omarosa.
“I’m an angel,” giggles Omarosa. “The thing is everyone doesn’t see the 250 hours of footage that producers leave on the editing room floor.”
She says that even with the slanted editing she is still loved for the character the world watches every week.
“The truth is I was recently named one of the top reality television stars in America and a big part of that is because I have a dynamic personality on reality T.V. It’s a genre that I have mastered,” admits Omarosa. “I don’t want to tell you the secrets of the trade — if you want to believe that reality T.V. is real than that’s fine. But if you enjoy my character than I don’t want to ruin that for you.”
Whether you love her or hate her the real Omarosa is using the recognition she receives from being a “reality” star to focus the world’s attention on more pertinent concerns.
“I am coming to D.C. to help launch, Food for Fuel’s International Fitness Program with D.C. Public Schools,” says Omarosa. “It’s to encourage young kids to get healthier options in schools and to get health at the forefront of educational discussions.”
She says she was surprised when she got the call about the program but believes she is the perfect person to take on the task.
“I was notified that I was named the International Fitness Diplomat for the Food for Fuel program, so from there they invited me to come out,” says Omarosa. “I think I fit the role very well because all through my junior high and high school years I was very active in health and fitness.”
But she will be the first to admit that the interest in health and fitness have greatly changed since her teenage years.
“The difference is when I was in school I had a lot of programs to teach me about exercising and eating well,” nostalgically says Omarosa. “But now a lot of children between the ages of 12 and 17 are suffering from obesity and this program really targets that issue.”
The program aims to educate and motivate students to become healthier individuals.
“The first thing that I will be doing is the program kick-off at six different schools in D.C.,” says Omarosa. “Initially what I will be doing is working with the nutrition presentation and I will be talking about my past and current food choices as well as adopting the school and hopefully be providing them with positive leadership.”
Even though she is not involved in junior high or high school sports anymore she still manages to stay fit and healthy.
“The secret to my fitness now is aqua aerobics,” says Omarosa. “I travel so much that I don’t have the time to work out so I usually get in the pool at whatever hotel I’m at and do a whole aqua aerobic program to stay in shape.”
Along with promoting a healthier lifestyle for teenagers Omarosa has a new campaign, “I Can’t Believe it’s Not Butter!” and the “Now You Know Better $1 million Game Show” via www.nowyouknowbetter.com.
She is also telling everyone to be on the lookout for a new television show from her in the upcoming year.
