Reverend Samuel ‘Billy’ Kyles was in DC recently. A civil rights pioneer, Reverend Kyles talked Martin Luther King into rallying with him on behalf of Memphis sanitation workers on strike back in 1968. With so many death threats, Dr. King’s staff didn’t want him to go but he believed in the cause and showed up. Reverend Kyles ended up sharing in Martin Luther King’s last hour on earth.
