Vice President Obama Unlikely

Hillary Clinton has recently floated the idea of Obama as her vice president.  I can’t blame her I would probably do the same thing.  Clinton is behind in the popular and delegate count.  She is hated by the right and viewed indifferently by independents.  Clinton has also managed to do what would have been considered impossible a year ago, she has split the Democratic Party.

Obama as vice president would be a great boon for a Clinton run for president.  It would allow her to tap into many of the Obama voters and even help win her some undecideds who are wavering between her and the senator during the primaries.  However it is unlikely to take place.  Sometimes the concept of by any means necessary is misunderstood.  Being willing to get your hands dirty is different than wallowing in the muck.  Hillary’s obsession with countering and mimicking Republican tactics has led to her alienating Obama and many within the Democratic Party.  Obama will not be her vice president.

A lot of comedians joke about the Democrats and their ability to lose even under the best of circumstances.  After the President Bush’s embarrassing administration the Democrats have never been so set to be victorious.  The only thing that can stop the party would be to nominate the most divisive candidate possible under the grimiest of circumstances.  Hopefully the super delegates and Pennsylvania will prevent that from taking place.
